the hotel was a fine base for enjoying a good area, adjacent to shops, and the public piers on the lake. i booked a room with a comfortable bed, a flat-screen tv with cable channels and climate control. the staff was superbly friendly plus the location was peaceful and favourable.

I got great value for my money at Villa Carmita in Bacalar. The room was clean, comfortable, and had a working AC. The location was convenient, with a short walk to the center and in a quiet and safe area. The staff was friendly and accommodating, allowing me to store my bags until my evening departure. Highly recommended for budget travelers.
